Location Data (BLE Beacon Proximity)
NixSpaces uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) beacons to detect proximity to specific devices at your workplace. The app continuously scans for nearby BLE beacons in the background to enable proximity-based features.
Important: Location Permissions
Location permissions are required by Android's security model for BLE scanning operations, even though the app does not track or use your actual geographic location. The app only detects the presence of specific BLE beacon devices within Bluetooth range at your workplace.
- • What we collect: Proximity detection to BLE beacon devices (not geographic coordinates)
- • What we do NOT collect: GPS location, geographic coordinates, or location data outside work sessions
- • Purpose: Automatic timer activation and device communication when near workplace beacons
- • Data handling: Location data is not sold, shared, or used for tracking outside of work proximity features
